Dr. Joel Schuman, MD, FACS, glaucoma specialist, and Professor and Chairman of the Dept of Ophthalmology at the Univ of Pittsburgh Eye Center is being honored this weekend as the key note speaker during graduation weekend at the Duke Eye Center.  With extreme modesty, he shared his brilliance and stunning work that became the foundation for using optical coherence tomography to study the retinal nerve fiber layer and its role in early glaucoma.  We are moving closer to “connecting the dots” to answer one of the hardest questions – namely the pathogenesis behind developing glaucoma.
